Andiwillalwaysluvu is a tribute to all the artworks lying dormant in storage spaces. For nearly twenty years, the former theater of the Villa Arson — rendered unusable due to water damage — served as a temporary storage space for the works of young artists. In 2021, ahead of a renovation project, all the stored pieces were permanently destroyed. Just before the evacuation, HaYoung decided to make their diploma presentation in this place, transforming it into the setting for a sound work: a remix of Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You .
The original track is fragmented at the scale of microseconds, morphing into a soundscape that oscillates between whispers and orchestral surges, reassembled and diffused through five speakers and a subwoofer. The sound unfolds slowly in the dark, and when a spotlight illuminates the entire theater, the audience, standing on the stage, faces a sea of seats occupied by artworks awaiting their disappearance.
The concert begins, but there are no performers: only echoes, ghosts and traces.
